About the Role:
In this role, you will provide professional development on technology resources available to teachers and administration, serve as a member of the crisis response team, and manage IT operations for the organization’s standard hardware, software, and voice/data network solutions. You will be responsible for purchasing, setting timelines for installation, and maintaining the life-cycle of PCs, servers, and LAN network connectivity equipment. Additionally, you will manage the help desk and provide escalated on-site support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues as needed. Your duties will include analyzing situations, evaluating alternatives, and implementing solutions within established standards. You will perform local administration and operations functions in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures, and work and communicate with a wide range of individuals, including peers, vendors, the public, staff members, and leadership. You will drive the mission and vision of technology use in the school, consistently demonstrating a professional, positive, and approachable attitude, and handling confidential information with discretion. You will also be responsible for purchasing software, hardware, and consumables as provided for in the budget. This position is supervised by the CEO.
Responsibilities:
Monitor local inventory maintenance and software license management. ● Monitors security compliance in accordance with standards, policies and procedures. ● Responsible for maintenance of systems documentation such as operations manuals. ● Serves as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key users for communications, initiatives, needs assessments, etc. ● Responsible for procurement, monitor installation and life-cycle maintenance of IT hardware and software (includes PCs, peripherals, servers, networking equipment, operating systems and other software ● Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (server, NAS, network or PC equipment failure), including data backup recovery. Performs complex software/hardware troubleshooting, patches and re-installations in cooperation with the Enterprise Helpdesk and in accordance with established SLAs. ● Provides consulting/training/education services such as data management and staff training/orientation for various school technologies. ● Responsible for local IT vendor, contract and outsourcing management. ● Provides backup support for UST(s) in the school. ● Participates in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate. ● Other duties as assigned ● May act as a resource to others to solve problems. ● Financial responsibility may include working within a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development, and meeting fundraising targets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5+ years' experience as System Administrator
- Experience with GAFE, MS Office, Windows
- Strong analytical skills and Familiarity with support and troubleshooting of personal computers, servers and network equipment.
